For anyone in the St. John’s who is willing and able to stay up that late (or get up that early), Edward is planning to be at the Bob Whelan Field (across from the playground) in Bowring Park in the early-morning hours of Friday, August 28, 2026 (12-3 AM) to talk about the lunar eclipse that will be visible here in Newfoundland during those hours and to answer all your lunar-eclipse and other astronomy questions. This eclipse is classified as partial but will be very close to total, with about 96% of the moon obscured by the Earth’s shadow at maximum.
This event is FREE and open to the public! Please drop us a line to let us know that you are coming, however, so we can get an idea of how many people we are expecting.
